Going SAI... and TABLET!?

Posted by Fatelogic - September 14th, 2013

I'm seriously considering giving a 180° twist on my fundamental norms of drawing... And I think I will try to go SAI for the first time in my life instead of Photoshop (the tool I used all these years), and even stranger... I might try going tablet!!! (As some of you know... I work with my mouse. All anchor points, no real pulse).

This... means three things:

1) My style will probably change... dramatically.
2) At first... my drawing skills will probably decline rather tremendously (it's like learning how to walk again).
3) It will take me an enourmous ammount of time to go back to my usual level (or higher... if lucky).

Sadly, I'm broke, so I'll have to buy a secondhanded tablet at a flea's flea market T_T (yep, a flea who has a flea market... flea markets themselves are too expensive to my poor, non-existent budget...), but still... SOMETHING GOTTA CHANGE!!!

Either way, we'll see how it goes, but keep in mind this probably means I'll be off the circuit for some time... Although who knows... maybe I get good quick... or not... I making a leap of faith here...

Wish me luck... at least luck enough to find money on the sidewalk xD Why does these fuckers are so damn costy...?

See you around!

Good luck Fate I hope you find a cheap tablet

Interested to see how that turns out, good luck man.

As someone who has started like you have, Meaning with a mouse, and as someone who has also used both a drawing tablet and still use paint tool sai. Let me tell you, You're going to like it bud :D
trust me both a drawing tablet and paint tool sai will be two amazing wepons in your artist arsenal.

So here's to looking forward to your new pieces!

Dude, good luck. Hopefully you can find a steady job that will pay for all these extra expenses.

This may sound crazy, but have ever considered applying to some type of art/animation studio? And I mean like art designers for video games are always in a demand. There's got to be some niche studios that would be willing to take you in. I mean you obviously already have the talent.

But I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas out of my ass.

Anyways I hope for the best for you dude. Keep us updated!
